Updates
June 16, 2011 Due to increased taxes and utility costs, we are raising our rates to:
$ 9 One Time Club Pass
$17 Regular Club Locker $12 Discount Club Locker (Military & current students with I.D., Monday through Thursday)
$27 Video Room $22 Discount Video Room
$37 Deluxe Video Room
$20 1 Week Gym Pass
Someone went into the soda & candy machine and change dispenser. That takes a special key, so if anyone knows who or have seen a customer or an employee go into the machine (other than the manager), I will pay you $100 cash if you will help identify the person you saw go into the machine so that I can have that person prosecuted.
May 12, 2011 The other night we had one of May's Black Out Tuesday. It was a real nice crowd. Thanks for the nice comments on the music. Don't forget - all Tuesdays in May (and June) are Black Out Nights. We've decided to extend this another month so you know exactly when to expect it.
Thanks to you all who keeps
things safe and sane. Just a reminder to be careful walking around the shower, steam and maze areas when the lights are out. Someone said they got stepped on but wasn't too upset (maybe it was because the steppee remedied the situation?).
Still working on a few things to make this a more enjoyable place to come...the
delay to multi-channel porn is because we are trying to figure out the best way to
handle the little remotes. We know some will lose
them. Once we figure out a viable solution, we'll let you know.
I've been playing KUMU 97.5 a lot lately. Their choice of music has been a real good mix of old and new. I'm working on a special 60's, 70's and 80's mix of my own that I will play early Saturday morning and during my shift Sunday nights. That way there won't be any commercials!
Sorry for the guy who got belligerent because he was told it was towel-only. Throwing a tantrum in a bathhouse was actually a bit fun to see. Then yanking down his underwear and screaming 'is this better?", well...I wanted to say maybe you should pull it back up. He did check out shortly thereafter and as he was leaving (and swearing the whole time), I kindly told him not to return. I don't want people like that in the Club to make things not so fun for everyone else.
People are leaving the showers running while not washing up. Just a friendly reminder to help keep our overhead expenses down by turning off the water when not (really) showering (also affects available hot water).
So what's up for June? Well, we're calling it G.I. June - for our boys in uniform. We know that Mondays are not the easiest for them to come in to get a free locker. With P.T. early in the morning and sometimes no transportation available, we decided to give them a Summer treat and move free lockers to Fridays for the entire month! All they need to do is check in with their Military I.D. between 1800 hours and 2359 hours and pay the Membership fee. This is only for active duty Military.
A reminder for those who visit us Monday through Thursday ... last time to check out is at 3:45 A.M., not at 3:30 A.M. If you are being told that it is 3:30, please advise the attendant that the website says otherwise. But in retrospect, please make sure you are checked out by 3:45!
Don't forget to bring both towels from your room up to the front when you check out.
We'd like to hear from you so send us an email to info@maxsgym.net about what you'd like to see, suggestions, comments, and even if there is a complaint you might have.
Maybe we'll make one of the G.I. June Fridays a Black Out Night...what do you think?
March 18th, 2011 We've updated the calendar for events through April.
We're having another special Young Men's Night (appropriately?) called Twinkie Tuesday. This time it's not anybody's birthday, just an exclusive 4 hours for the younger crowd. Those that attended the last time had a great time. Show your school I.D. or Military I.D. for $5 off a locker or a room.
Also happening in April will be the premiere of multi-channel porn! It's taken a while, having to run new cable to the TVs, special equipment to create the channels, and computers to run all the videos. We are looking to have a "Bi" channel, a "Bareback" channel, and alternating a "Twinkie" and "Trans" channel. We will still have our regular channel that shows general porn (which also plays in the Sling area). We will have a small remote given to those who get a Room, and this remote will be returned at time of check out. If you fail to return the remote or it is damaged, you will be charged an additional $5.00. As always, your patience has been appreciated!
It's Friday. I'm sure my two special friends will show up tonight. They have for the past few weeks anyway. They have a tendency to be a little loud and don't always close their room door. Well, let me clarify that it isn't always just them that is on the loud side. Sometimes it can be pretty vocal, then the slapping sound is easy to distinguish just as well. It can be quite an interesting event. Hey, I'm human - I make more rounds when they're here
Please remember to bring up your towels. We are continuing to find them in the rooms and the locker area. It makes our job easier and makes it less embarrassing asking for the fee for not bringing your towel up when checking out.
Hey Military guys, don't forget you get a free locker on Mondays. We know that it's not easy to get to us on a work night. Maybe we can make a special Friday night special just for you guys?
February 17th, 2011 We had our first sponsored Private Party last night/this morning. Spoke to a lot of the guys who showed up and they said they had a great time. Many found time to just hang out and talk and socialize ? albeit in the dark with no clothes on. Got to admit that it's a different social setting Our birthday boys (both who are turning 21 in a few days) thanks all the guys who showed up and brushed shoulders (or other parts) with them.
For March, we're celebrating Mardi Gras. On Tuesday March 8th, we'll celebrate with $10 lockers from 4 to 8 P.M. Then on the 16th and 30th (Wednesdays), we'll have regular To-The-Max Black Out Nights from 8 P.M. until 2 A.M.
A reminder - no bags or backpacks! We found another beer bottle, and as you know, no drugs or alcohol is allowed on the premises. So this also extends to bottles and cans. No matter how many times we emphasize this, people still feel they can get away with it. So let's make it simple and just leave them at home! Please don't push the issue or we will have to push back.
Another reminder - you are allowed to exchange one towel at no charge. Subsequent towels are $1 each. But if you decide to take the towel when you check in, it will be $1.00.
We do have one shower that is not operational. We've got some work going and hope that it's not too inconvenient.
Have a great Spring everyone!
January 21st, 2011 Hoping this new year has been good to you so far.
We are having a Black Out Night next Wednesday on the 26th, and then two more in February. Since we've turned off all the lights in the shower and steam, the comments range from 'awesome' to 'unreal'. We do have the one guy who comes to let us know that something is wrong with the lighting - meaning we've still got some guys who don't check our website. What a learning experience! Just remember, if you're walking through the area, keep your hands loose and fingers curled in. Don't want to poke someone kneeling in the eye!
Sorry about the problem with the tepid water the past week or so. Water heaters are working, just a problem with a circuit breaker this time.
We've decided to drop the special room idea with a separate DVD player. I'm in the process of rewiring the Club to offer multi-channel gay porn on the TVs located in the rooms. We haven't decided if we want to offer a third room type (superior with multi-channel porn) or change all rooms to multi-channel. But the existing deluxe rooms will come with multi-channel porn). This should be available in mid-February.
Again, a reminder - leave your bags & backpacks at home! It just makes it easier to check you in. If you have to bring your bag, you can bring your own lock to use the lockers we have set aside. Otherwise, the rate to rent a lock is (now) $2.00. Please do not try and hide your bags. It makes for an uncomfortable situation.
We're working on a couple of other promotional events. One of them is to have 60's and 70's soft rock music (Sunday from 8 P.M. through closing at 4 A.M.) instead of the techno that normally plays. Stay tuned for more information on upcoming events.
And don't forget that we close at 4 A.M. and reopen at noon from Monday through Thursday.
December 27th, 2010 The new year is almost upon us. It seems like 2010 just flew by!
Don't forget, Black Out this coming Friday (New Year's Eve). Should be a blast...
When I would ask customers why they didn't buy an extended Membership, many really didn't have a good answer. And my asking was just an attempt to save our patrons a few dollars during each visit. Let's face it, $8.00 adds up. But I also thought that it could have been because of another reason - having your membership card found by someone else!
I've had my own innocent encounters where someone went through my pants pocket or into my wallet to look for something (with permission, of course). Then I would stop and panic, wondering if there was something that I didn't want them to see. So with that in mind, we've decided to allow you to leave your Membership card with us for safe keeping.
If you like, when you purchase the extended 1 week or 3 month Membership or the Gym 1 month or 1 year card, we will put it on file in the attendant's booth. The next time you visit, all you need to do is show us your picture I.D. to get checked in. We will look up your membership. And if you already have one, you can leave it with us to put on file. No hassles and no unnecessary embarrassment when someone asks about that Max's card in your wallet!
We're also in the process of changing our TV setups in the video rooms. In the near future, they will have multi-channel capability, showing the regular male porn, and adding bisexual videos and one or two more channels, depending on the interest and feedback we get. Please have patience as each TV needs to have a whole new coax cable run (currently running composite signals). Each room will have a small remote control to allow you to change channels. And yes, if you lose the remote you will be charged for it. We also hope this prevents people from playing with the wiring and essentially causing additional problems for our staff.
We've got more things planned for 2011, so stay tuned for more exciting things to come.
The Staff & Management of Max's Gym wishes you a very safe, happy and prosperous 2011. Hauoli Makahiki Hou!
December 19th, 2010 Here's the message that was flagged from craigslist.org ... not sure it it was readers or if something sparked a no-no in their T&C. It did include a reference to this page (www.maxsgym.net/home/promotions.html). In any case, here it is.
Good Evening!
Last night's Black Out was amazing! We'd like to thank all of you who 'came' down. It was fun, it was active, it was festive. No attitude, no problems, and lots of smiles and friendly chatter going on.
No one complained about it being darker than usual. In fact, lots of comments about it being more fun. We turned off all the lights in the shower area and the steam, so lots of groping went on. Well, groping and then some. I'll admit, it was scary at first but there was no pushing or shoving. Lots of moaning was heard though. And not one person came up to say someone stole their towel! Being one of the attendants last night, I'd like to thank you for making it a(nother) success and making it a very smooth and fun filled night.
We're going to do it just the same on New Year's Eve. We scheduled it from 9 P.M. to give us time to get things done before we start to turn off the lights. Our new shift schedule starts at 8 P.M. and runs through 4 A.M., as we had mentioned about our new hours of operation.
Here's hoping that you're getting your Christmas shopping done, and that you'll be able to spend time with family and friends during the holidays.
December 16th, 2010 Important news we bring to you today!
We don't want to say that it's due to the economic slump, but we will be reducing our hours during the weekdays. This will take place next Monday, December 20th. Here's how our new hours will run:
12:00 Noon - 4:00 A.M. Monday through Thursday 24 Hours Friday and Saturday
How this plays out ... we will open at noon Monday and close at 4 A.M. Tuesday. Same for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Friday, we will open at noon and stay open until Monday at 4 A.M. We ask that you be checked out by 3:45 A.M. so that we can be out of there by 4. Keep in mind that we will not be discounting late check ins.
We will be having a Black Out night tomorrow (Friday the 17th). We will also have one on New Year's Eve. And on New Year's morning, we will have pastries and coffee for everyone.
Happy Holidays!
December 8th, 2010 We have come under a lot of scrutiny in the past few weeks
due to our 'No Bags' policy. It was hoped that we wouldn't have to go into
details as to why, but since there have been some nasty and rude remarks made
to the Club attendants, it was best to explain why.
Over the past few months, there have been many items missing
from the Club. We have no one to blame but ourselves in thinking that we could
keep certain areas open for easy access to the gym employees to make their job
simpler and be more accommodating to our patrons.
In addition, a Lava Lamp that was put into the Pool Table
room purchased just for the entertainment of our customers was 'removed' from
the premises late last week. A customer tried to bring in beer in a backpack
last week as well.
We have a zero bag rule, and it willl be enforced.
Otherwise, we will just raise rates. It's pretty simple.
Some have voiced concerns of trying to make the place a
little more fun. One of the laser lights is no longer working because someone
changed the settings. Someone also changed the timer settings on another laser
light, evident because the wiring was no longer tucked away. They had to climb
up to reach it.
Someone keeps removing a shower head. We had to have a
plumber repair because they cross threaded it. And it goes on and on.
If you see someone vandalizing the property or
stealing something, we hope you have the balls enough to report it to the
staff. If not and it keeps going on, we will just raise the rates to make up
for stolen or broken items.
Also, sorry for the delayed removal of the Black Out Thanksgiving night. Seems the server had to reinstall a backup which contained the old information. We're trying to work out some sort of promotion for the upcoming Christmas and New Year's weekends, providing we have no other issues or missing items in the next few weeks.
November 17th, 2010 Here's some information on what we are implementing Thursday, November 18th at 4PM...
Over the past few weeks, we've noticed beer cans in the trash, so we've had to step up having to keep all bags from entering the club area. We have moved 4 lockers from the locker room and brought them up front. They will be next to a metal shelf unit. Just like many stores are now requiring, all bags and backpacks (including plastic shopping bags) will have to be left either in one of the lockable lockers or on the shelf unit. If you want to use a locker, there will be a $1.00 charge to use our lock. Sorry, but we will not allow outside locks to be used because of liability. There is no charge to use the shelf.
Please keep this in mind: Max's Gym will not be responsible for the safekeeping of any items (just like the stores). If you bring a bag or backpack, we are not responsible for the contents. You have the option of leaving it at home. You will not be allowed access to the bag or backpack once you enter the Club. The attendant will not allow you to repeatedly enter the gym area. The facility is there to actively work out. You will be questioned and checked on.
We are also enforcing the No Smoking ban for everyone. If you are found to be smoking in the Club or on the Gym Lanai, you will be asked to leave. If you make an issue of it, we will have to revoke future admission. Recent incidents have forced us to take firm stances. We do know that it is an inconvenience, yet we are looking out for your safety and the security for everyone. Our employees must abide by these rules. We've unfortunately had to take employee disciplinary action because someone failed to follow established guidelines.
Regarding Safe Deposit Boxes: Because of a recent altercation regarding a broken key, if you misplace or break the Safe Deposit Box key, you will have the option of calling a locksmith of your choice and paying for any fees directly to them to drill out the lock (can run up to $200 or more), or you can wait until we can contact our contracted locksmith and have them come at their convenience to open the box. We have a flat rate of $50.00 but it can take up to 24 hours.
Regarding Locker Padlocks and Room Doors: There is a fee of $10.00 for the attendant to open the padlock or room door. If you lose the padlock for the locker, or if you break the key off in the padlock and it becomes unusable, there is a $25.00 replacement fee. If you lose the keys (keyring), it will cost you $50.00 to replace the keys, door lock, and/or padlock, plus the Safe Deposit Box fee to open it (your choice of calling a locksmith or using our contracted locksmith).
We are asking no more and no less from you than any other club of this nature would ask for. We respect everyone's privacy and safety and ask that you do the same.
On a lighter note ... the holidays are starting to creep up fast. Thanksgiving is
next week, then it'll be Christmas and a brand new year. We're trying
to figure what might be a nice way to celebrate the upcoming holidays
with all of you!
We'll have Black Out Night on Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday. We aren't sure if there will be a lot of activity Thursday night because everyone will be in shopping lines for Black Friday, right? Or, everyone will come to Max's after a big Thanksgiving dinner and then go straight to the stores Friday morning? We'll just make sure to keep the Gym lights on all night -or- the lights down low in the Club so you can work off the extra pounds while keeping active.
Walmart is supposed to be selling Christmas trees next Friday (except the Keeaumoku store), and they will open at midnight instead of 5 A.M. Heard that on the news, but don't hold us to that.
November 11th, 2010 Veteran's Day Special - we'd like to show our appreciation to our men in uniform by giving them a little R&R! Just ask, We'll tell Yes You Get In Free!
For the whole day, Active Duty Military, Retired Military, and Military Reservists will get a free locker and free membership. This is good for the first 6 hours (regular renewal rates apply). If you want a room, it'll cost just $10. I'm even going to turn on the laser lights and fog machines from 8P to 2A.
We'll also have a Blackout on Thanksgiving Thursday at 8P, crawling over to Black Friday and finishing up at 2A.
More news to come in a few days.
October 22nd, 2010 The Hawaii Gay Cruise coming up. We'd like to offer those attending the cruise a free One Time Membership with purchase of a locker or room. Just show us your boarding card at the Attendant's Desk. Offer good through November 8th!
Seems smoking is (again) an issue. Here is a link to some information on
Hawaii's Smoking Law:
Please keep in mind that, even though this is a private club, we are still bound by the prohibition because we are also an employer. Plus, the person caught smoking can be fined, and we could lose our license. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms nor outside on the lanais. We will have to ask anyone caught doing so to leave. We'd prefer not to close down just because of a craving!
We are also considering placing lockers to store your bags outside. We are still finding outside beverage containers in our trash. Please keep in mind that this is a safety issue. We screen those who seem to be intoxicated from entering the club to make sure that everyone can have a great time. We cannot tell what is inside your beverage container; so to make it easy, we do not want any foreign containers brought in. Please do not make it an issue. Leave your bags at home until we can work something out outside.
Attendance has gone up in spite of added enforced rules. We want to think that it's because you feel more confident about your safety, security and confidentiality. Oh, and because you had a grand time All three four items are very important to us, and we also appreciate your concerns. While working, I've had guys come up to me [apologizing] when they had to let me know something is broken or lube has spilled on the floor. I make sure they know that they shouldn't be apologizing and it is very much appreciated that they let me/us know when something is wrong. AGAIN, the safety issue. So let the attendant on duty know that something is broken or not working. Let us thank you for making our place a fun - and safe - place to be!
We're noticing a lot more people from Japan, China, South Korea, Guam, and of course, the lower 48 states and Alaska. Many say that they can now google 'gay sex hawaii' and Max's Gym shows up in the top 5. Plus the website has added presence. Someone also commented about us on craigslist.org, saying some real nice things about what we're doing. We want to continue improving the facilities as much as we can. BTW, the wood plank in the maze has been removed. It was there to reinforce the walls so we had to add structural support elsewhere before cutting that piece out.
We'd also like to thank those guys who come down to spend their
birthdays with us. Effective November 1st, show us your I.D. on your birthday and we'll give you
a free locker! All you need is a Membership (unexpired weekly and 3
month members get in absolutely free!). Just show up anytime during your
birthday and get six hours on us. Upgrade to a room for just $10.
Thank you for your patience and also for your much appreciated patronage. Let us know how we can make it yet a better place. Don't forget, we still want your feedback. Email us at info@maxsgym.net.
Happy Halloween!
October 13th, 2010 We've
seen some ads in Craigslist for guys looking for someone to 'host' a
get-together. We'd like to help out.
From now through the 17th, between the hours of 4:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M., we will let you use one of our
Deluxe Rooms for a fee of $10 per person, with a minimum of 3 people. The
Deluxe Room is a bit larger and can accommodate 4 people comfortably. Everyone will be assigned a locker to store their belongings. The $8
Membership fee will apply per person, unless they currently have a One
Week or 3 Month Membership. Everyone will still have use of the rest of the
facilities -showers, steam and sauna, maze, and the gym during their 6 hour
visit.
All you need to do is let the attendant know you want a Deluxe Room for a
Group. Once you know what room you are in, you can contact your friends and
tell them what Group room to ask for when they check in. That way the attendant
knows to charge them the special pricing.
IF you only have 2 people, the
group leader will be charged the difference for the room at time of check-out.
That would be an additional $15.
If you have any questions, please email us at info@maxsgym.net.
September 17th, 2010 Any plumbers in the house? Want to ask a question regarding our shower area. Send us an email - info@maxsgym.net - thanks in advance!
We've added a calendar to the website so we can keep you advised of upcoming events. If you have something you want listed, send us an email. If you have a business that maybe some of our patrons might have the need of your services, give us a holler and we'll post it.
September 13th, 2010 We've set the schedule for October, even before this month's halfway point. On the 15th and 16th, we'll have our special Blackout Weekend. Then on the 29th, 30th and 31st, we'll have an extra special Halloween Blackout Weekend! We'll be giving away some treats if you give us a treat ... well something like that. Come dressed up if you like, but remember it all has to come off! We will allow eye cover masks (like the Zorro type), but nothing else to make sure no one gets hurt. Check out the Odyssey magazine October issue and see our full page ad on the Halloween link off the Home tab.
For the remaining part of this month, we'll have a Full Moon Madness Blackout Night on Thursday the 23rd from 8P till 2A. Sends chills when you pass someone by in the dark and feel their happiness brush across your thigh...
We were able to convert the vending change machine to now give out 4 quarters. If you need 2 dimes and a nickel, you can get that from the attendant. Please turn the cranks slowly. Someone has jammed one snack mechanism already. Now that we've seen what sodas sell, we'll be taking out the Mountain Dew and Pepsi. Seems Sprite and Cokes sell 6-to-1 over those two. The Root Beer didn't do so good either so we'll just have Cokes, Coke Zero, and Sprite. Water is still available at the attendant's counter.
Still want feedback. Thanks to those who have sent in their suggestions. What else would you like to see [pun intended]?
September 7th, 2010 Our Labor Day Blackout Weekend was a huge success! In fact, there were so many guys still having a good time that management said screw it and went home Saturday and Sunday, leaving the Spa in blackout mode those entire nights. We are still reviewing whether to make it a regular thing. Every other weekend, every weekend, ... send us your thoughts.
Thanks to those who help keep the water consumption down. We've still got a few reports of excessive shower hogs - one with a towel, and those who like to play in the shower area. That's cool, just please turn off the water while you're going down. After all, we don't want you to drown
Got some guys who are poking holes in the towels. All that does is cause it to start running, then tearing. Please don't make puka's. It's costing us (and possibly you) money.
We are still looking for some new promotions. I've wanted "Best Looking X", "Best Tasting X", "Biggest X", "Thickest X"...I've even volunteered to judge; it's just hard [lol] to stage something like that.
Just like everything else, it takes time for things to settle down. The first few weeks we got complaints about rearranging the maze. Hey, I've run into the wall a few times myself. BESIDES, none of the first timers ever complained.
Yes, the vending machine is also different. Like the maze, you'll get used to it. Yes, it gives you 3 quarters, 2 dimes and a nickel. We can't change that, sorry. Just change the dimes and nickel at the attendant's window. If you run into a problem, just ask. To get to the sodas, open up the box like a refrigerator. We're working on getting better lighting so you can see the machine better.
September 2nd, 2010 Labor Day Weekend is coming up, so that means 3 nights in the dark Be prepared to have a ball!
The change machine on the new vending machine gives out 3 quarters, 2 dimes and a nickel. If you want quarters, you can get them from the attendant at the front. The other soda machine is out of order so please do not use that machine as we will no longer be able to give out refunds for that machine.
Don't forget that it is also the weekend for the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Help support them in finding a cure for Muscular Dystrophy and give what you can.
August 29th, 2010 The Labor Day weekend is coming up. We expect it to be real busy, starting from Thursday all the way through Monday night.
Things have been running real smooth lately. Hot water heaters keeping all the hot bodies nice and warm.
We will be removing the existing soda and snack machines soon. Having problems with the vendor so we're just going to do things ourselves. There is a new soda and snack combo machine in the room with the pool table. Snacks are on the 'front' of the unit, and if you open the unit up (like opening a refrigerator), you will find the canned sodas. We have Coke, Coke Zero, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Sprite, and Barq's Root Beer. There is a change machine on the right side of the unit. If you want water, you can get that at the front from the attendant.
We will be bringing on another black out night, but not sure when. Maybe during the labor Day weekend?
During our busy times, our washers and dryers are going full blast. Sometimes we run out of towels so we save what we have for incoming customers. We hope you understand that during those times we cannot exchange your towel, but check with the attendant and he can give you an idea when we will have a fresh batch out of the dryer. As a reminder, if you are doing a towel exchange, the first exchange is at no charge. Subsequent exchanges are $1.00 each. If you are checking in and request a 2nd towel, there will be a $1.00 fee. And please remember, you are expected to bring your towels up to the front when checking out. This includes the towel that is already in your room.
Unfortunately, someone had played around with the TV in the pool table room and killed the audio. We had to swap out the 27 inch with a smaller 19 inch. As always, we ask that you don't touch what you shouldn't be.
Someone (no, had to be more than just one actually) was having a ball[?] in the maze at about 3 this morning! Our office is on the other side of the wall, and we were smiling when the picture that was hanging started to bounce. Hard. And for some time! So if you happen to be in the maze and you hear knocking coming from the other side, consider that as applause for the sounds we hear on our side!
August 8th, 2010 Last week's Black Out Monday was a big success! Lots of guys showed up and since we had guys showing up even after 2 A.M., we decided to just leave things as they were until the morning. We're planning to do this again and also looking at some other specials and promotions.
We've modified the One Week Membership plan. Yes we did raise the price to $15, but it now allows unlimited use of the Gym facilities for that entire week. And if you want to visit the Spa side, all you have to do is rent a room or a locker.
We now have Monster, Red Bull and 5-Hour energy drinks available for $3.00 each. And we also have Twinkies, Cupcakes and Ding Dongs available at the Attendant's counter as well for those who want something sweet to snack on.
We've put on hold the DVD-Room. We are considering multi-channel porn in the rooms (Twinks, Asian, and everything else). Equipment for that is being acquired. Logistics are being worked on, but we would probably issue a remote at time of check in, and you will be expected to return the remote back when you check out.
Labor Day Weekend is coming up soon. Suggestions on something we can do?
July 26th, 2010 Reminder - next Monday is Black Out Monday!
We've decided to just stock Coke Zero and remove Diet Coke. A little trivia from ASK.com: "...Coke Zero is sweetened with a combination of aspartame and acesulfame
potassium (Ace-K). Coke Zero is the same basic formula as classic Coke
while Diet Coke is a different formula completely. Diet Coke is
sweetened with aspartame only.
Also, Coke Zero has 0.5 Calories per 100ml while Diet Coke, oddly enough, still contains one Calorie. One
other rational for the Coca Cola release of Coke Zero is that men are
reluctant to buy diet coke because of the association with dieting and
women. Much of the marketing of Coke Zero in the US is directed toward
men and activities often associated with masculinity..."
We'll be bringing in Red Bull and 5-Hour energy drinks by next week.
Was fixing our other water heater this morning and someone came to
'complain' that there was no water to shower with. Turned it back on
temporarily - sorry about that. Fifteen minutes later the same guy came
to 'complain' that again there was no water to shower with...
$10 Tuesdays will be from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. starting next week Tuesday.
We have access to 2 brand new in original box (unopened) xBox 360's. This is the new wifi-ready slim shiny black models that were just released. If interested, please email info@maxsgym.net. They were purchased earlier this month. Will sell for the originally purchased price of $316.00 ($299 plus tax). First come...
And, if you need your computer checked (running slow, viruses, malware, etc.), we have a specialist who can help you out. No need to worry about someone finding your porn and freaking out. They can help back up and store your goodies to CD or DVD. Send an email to info@maxsgym.net to arrange a meeting. July 11th, 2010 We are gonna have a special Black Out Night on Monday, August 2nd from 8 P.M. through 2 A.M. We plan to turn down the lights in the shower and off in the steam area, and also off in the maze. We do ask that you please be considerate. No pushing or shoving. Safety is foremost under any circumstance! And yes, it is still a Military Monday so our active duty boys get a free locker...
And just to make it a little more interesting ? on that day, if you are active duty and 18 to 21 years old, you will be allowed to get in totally free (we will waive the Membership and locker fee) from 4 P.M. through 8 P.M. So you'll still be there for the start of Black Out Night!
We'll start working on removing the sling and see how we can mount it in the theater area. The poll ended with 72 percent saying that they'd love to find someone in the sling out in the open. We'll work on seeing if we can get our younger attendants to maybe find some swing time too!
A little change to Tuesdays - instead of Two-For-Tuesdays, we'll let everyone have a locker for $10 between the hours of 4 P.M. and midnight. Membership is still required.
Do us a favor - please keep our TVs clean...someone's been leaving their mark on the theater room bottom TV. Also someone's been taking paper towels into the shower area and it has a tendency to start clogging the drain, causing you to wade through ankle-deep water. Please, nothing but towels into the shower area.
We hope to have one of our deluxe rooms DVD-ready by August 1st. We'll be putting in a DVD player and offering you the opportunity to bring your own movies. This room will go for the regular price of $35 if you do not want the DVD player turned on, and $10 more to have the player turned on.
Any suggestions for what we might do for Labor Day weekend? Email us at info@maxsgym.net. If we use your suggestion, we'll give you a 1 week Membership.
Remember that we do have Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, 7-Up, Mountain Dew, and bottled water for $1.00, and Arizona Ice Tea for $2.00 at the Attendant's desk.
Also got a new poll. We want to know if you'd like to hear songs from the 70's or Disco or Country or what-have-you. Maybe on a Tuesday afternoon, maybe Friday from 1AM. What'd you like to hear? Tell us.
Sorry guys - the Poll isn't showing up properly - if you highlight the open area you'll be able to read the text options that are there. I've reported this to the web hosting site.
July 7th, 2010 Well, the movie system has been put into place. It is configured to run 24/7 and randomly play movies from the library. Please don't ask the attendants if they can change it because they cannot. The system can also show a message onscreen to let patrons know if their room or locker time limit is expiring. It's experimental but has been fairly stable for the past week.
Sorry about the cold water late Saturday night. There was one guy who was letting the water run on a shower for quite some time but not even standing under the water. And when asked to turn his shower off, he didn't even acknowledge any reply. He pretty much emptied what hot water there was, and to top it all, when he left he didn't even turn his shower off! Unfortunately, it's guys like that who force rates to go up to cover added overhead expenses. Help us keep our costs down. We honestly hate to raise prices!
We've added Coke Zero and Sprite to the sodas available at the attendant's counter. Trying to see if that is preferable to 7-Up and Diet Coke.
We did have several movies turned in for admission and those have been added to the 'library'. If you have any movies that you'd like to trade for a free locker, bring them down and (even though the promotion is over), the management will take a look and see what we can do that is fair for both...
June 18th, 2010 As you probably have noticed, the water heater has been replaced. Not much we can do for those busy weekends where it just can't keep up, but during the rest of the week it can get darn-right scalding! Thanks for your patience, and as a favor to your fellow Spa users, if you want to hang out in the shower area that's cool but please don't fake showering. Washing for 5 minutes every 5 minutes just wastes water and electricity
What should have been online last month should be completed next week - putting the 100+ videos back on for continuous play. In fact, it will be put on battery back-up so it will continue to play even if the power goes out. (It's more for the power spikes that Waikiki gets hit with almost daily.)
We've also decided that for the rest of June, if you bring in a gay XXX DVD (new or used, but must be playable), you will be given in exchange a free locker. So just pay for your membership (or use your week or 3 month pass) and get in free. This is available if you check in anytime from 12:01AM Monday through 11:59PM Wednesday. Normal rules apply like 6-hour limit, etc.
Smoking continues to be a sore subject. Even though this is a private club, State law still mandates our abiding by rules. We will continue to enforce no-smoking in both the Spa and Gym. There is no smoking for customers or employees on the premises. We cannot allow Spa patrons to exit the club for a couple minutes to have a smoke outside and come back in due to personal property rights - you can't take your room & lockbox key outside, and leaving it with the attendant sets up the possible accusation of unauthorized lockbox entry. Apologies in advance. Besides, there are better things to suck on [did I say that?]
We have Coke, Diet Coke, 7-Up, Mountain Dew and bottled water available for $1, and Arizona Iced Tea for $2 at the attendant's booth. Please - cans aren't allowed to be taken into the common areas
(shower, steam, sauna, maze, etc.). We also have Bowl-o-Noodles for $3. You do need to consume these either at the lanai (gym-side) or in the pool table room(not on the pool table!). Slippers are also available for $2.
New Poll was posted. Hope it's not too kinky. Feedback is welcomed as well - send us an email.
Looking for someone who has a video projector for a couple of nights to help out a friend. Will give you a couple of free weekday Spa coupons for your help. Send us an email.
If anyone has a business and wants to put a shout here, send us an email. We can all afford to promote within the community.
Check out the link to Wang Chung's. It's a really cool hole-in-the-wall Karaoke bar located directly behind the Hyatt Hotel on Koa Avenue. Open from 2PM to 2AM. Oh, they are very gay- and bi-friendly
We do understand that there's a lot of don'ts, but that is just for your safety and well being. Thank you for your cooperation!
May 13th, 2010 Yes, we've had a problem with one of our water heaters. Apologies for the cold showers - hope that didn't affect your libido too much. But during the past 2 weeks while this was going on, it did give us some insight into some interesting information.
It happened to hit our electricity bill midway. This allowed us to review how much of our electric bill was affected. As you can imagine, the water heaters are in a constant 'on' situation from late afternoons through early morning Mondays through Thursdays, and continuously from midday Friday through morning on Sunday. It accounts for about 50% of our electricity bill, followed by the electric dryers used for the towels...
We've decided to attempt keeping the water at a lukewarm temperature throughout the day. This should help us keep costs down, still provide a comfortable setting for rinsing off, and help to prevent the need to raise prices.
We are also looking into push on showers, similar to public restroom faucets where you push the knob and get so many seconds of running water. We've taken many steps to try and reduce overhead, but there are still a few out there that leaves our showers running, sometimes not using the water or not even in the shower area. Unfortunately, all these areas of waste does have its impact.
And for our first Poll, the results were interesting. Seems the majority is looking for (in order of percentage): Bareback Muscular Twinks getting Gang Banged, followed by Military Jocks getting Blowjobs Outdoors, then Anal Amateur Bears Jacking Off with Cumshots. Sorry, nobody was interested in Toys...
April 15th, 2010 We added a Poll to see what kind of porn tickles your fancy. We are also in the process of changing the video system so we do apologize for the limited selection. We should have the updated system in place by the end of the month, but if we can get it online sooner we will. This should allow for upwards of 150+ hours of movies without repeats.
We had one reply to our feedback request. Unfortunately, we couldn't award the free one week Membership. If the sender wants to forward a copy of their email with a name (to verify with an I.D.), I'll have your free membership waiting for you to pick up.
One of the comments on the feedback email received had to do with a request for a better screen in the movie room. We have considered this but as it is now, people have a tendency of touching things they shouldn't. Attempts to prevent people from changing settings only made them try harder or vandalize preventative measures, so for the time being we will leave a hard glass TV instead of an easily damageable LCD screen. Also, we are considering some changes to that area so it will eventually have just one TV screen.
We'd also like to ask for some help in keeping costs down. On one occasion, a patron kept leaving the water running on one of the shower heads while sitting in the steam area. After the 3rd time turning it off within 10 minutes, management asked him to please stop doing that. His reply was somewhat of a shocked "oh...sorry". And as a reminder, smoking is also not allowed anywhere in the club area (by State law).
Effective tomorrow, April 16th, a towel for gym patrons will be provided for a $1.00 fee. But you are most welcome to bring your own towel if you'd like.
As an FYI, if no one is in the gym side of the house during the wee morning hours, we turn off most of the lights in an effort to conserve energy and reduce expenses. But we are still open and if there is a person wanting to use the gym side, we will gladly turn the lights back on. Come on up!
April 1st, 2010 A special for May 3rd has been posted. Get a free locker if you are a multi-month Member.
Management also wants to get feedback from you. Send us some constructive feedback via email. The 3 best emails received will get a free one week Membership card that will expire 7 days after you bring in a printed copy of the email you receive from us. You must redeem the card within 15 days of receipt of winning notice. Email link is below, or send to info@maxsgym.net.
February 18th, 2010 Updated the Location with an integrated Mapquest feature. Only problem is - it doesn't display the location in the white Get Directions To boxed area, although it's there. If you want to see it, you can click and drag to display the hidden text. This is a Mapquest issue and they have been notified. All you need to do is to click on the dot and enter your address to get driving directions. Also corrected a typo - the Gym Renewal Promotion expires 3/31/10 [was 31/31/10].
Soda machine has been on the fritz and the snacks are almost empty. Did someone get too friendly with the vending machine guy??? For now, we have soda and water available at the attendant's booth. We hope to have things back in order shortly.
February 6th, 2010 We've made some slight changes to certain rates and programs...the one time Membership fee has gone up from $7.00 to $8.00; the one week Membership has gone from $10 to $11; we've brought back the yearly Gym Membership renewal of $199 but that also allows existing members to add 12 months to their current membership; the Student promotion is now valid for those from 18 to 25 years of age, and we've discontinued the in/out option for Spa users.
